Here is the 2020 progress list of new 1250 scale releases and re-releases this year. There were thirty new models released in 2019 and several were mastered but have yet to emerge. As well as our new releases we will add news of back catalogue models when they have gone into production. A date means that the model has been released. The numbers made vary a lot between 10 and 50.

Hi and hello from CN Collectables. Happy New Year and January Sale. We hope you had a reasonable Shipsmas.

We always have some sale offers and have some new items in our January Sale.

This week we expect some examples of a new model, that of the USN Lewis and Clark. Price is £49.95

All recent orders are processed. There were holdups to Europe when the trucks became marooned at Dover. We have now received the Hjartland North Western Ferry in both liveries and also some more submarines. The most exciting is the Triomphant of France as the run last year didnt work very well and very few were made, Back in stock after a very long wait is the RN O Class boat and the Russian Borei class. Also pleased to have Full Hull Astutes and the roll out stand for same.

The 2020 version of Sir David Attenborough has docked with us. It’s good to see on the TV news the ship berthed at Holyhead for 2 months getting up to speed for the crew and in and out of the harbour. Then she goes to the Arctic Sea. Brrrrrrr.

Next task is still to list some of the old ships which we have photoed but not had time to put on the site.

++++Lots of recent releases in stock such as the Devonport Dockyard Basin 3 Kit, nine new aircraft, the Rivers at last and the Holland Class Frigate of the Dutch and Nato navy. We were pleased to hear that all four of the class have visited Plymouth. Also more stock of the Type 31 frigate and Mont St Michel Brittany Ferry so at the moment we have all three Brittany Ferries. The Nimrod and Awac planes are hugely impressive.

Lockdown is with us again, again and now tier 4 for another 20 million people which makes it 80% of the UK. We have both bought a visor with clear glasses which makes it easier to not bump into people, lamp posts and trees. Vaccine news is positive with some local deliveries, and now the Oxford Vaccine becomes available next week.

Postage prices went up yet again on January 1st. At least many of our items are light weight and the UK second level of one kilo means . We will just carry on and see how much change there is as we go. If this site gets it radically wrong we will refund you the over payment. We think the rates are now correct.

Kind and caring wishes to all our friends and customers around the world as the pandemic infiltrates every community in the world. It seems to be getting worse despite people being very careful.

Devonport Basin 3 submarine basin is more than half sold. It is good to hear that the type 23 refurb programme is busy there. In 2021 we will make a Dover Harbour kit and will remake as many of the former Mountford range as possible. Do send your wants in. As announced last newsletter we are rebranding recent models as our own CNC and have an agreement to acquire the Mountford 1250 range. MT miniatures will focus on 700 and 2400 scales.

As well as ships have all sorts of items here such as CDs, diecasts, books and model railways as collections are sorted and reduced. We love model buses, railways and all forms of transport.

Old and used Triang items we use three categories mint/good, playworn/reasonable and tatty for restoration ie for TLC. which is for repaint and restoration. Triang ships are amazingly tough. Oh and sometimes we can’t find an item which you have bought. This is down to being human so sorry.

CN Collectables on Ebay is now into its 21st year and continues because it is so easy to use in almost every part of the world. We have had customers in 81 countries plus BFPO,AFPO, Britannia Naval College and several ships including the much lamented HMS Illustrious. This site is now in its fifth year. You will find that a number of items are cheaper here than on Ebay because of their high charges to sellers.

There is no news on any further Triang releases but we can confirm that Charles was alive and well and we had a long conversation in November 2017 but silence ever since. regrettably the TMS website disappeared recently. Triang stocks have reduced significantly especially type 23s.

Triang stopped production in 2014. We were the largest buyer of Triang which is why we still have various items in stock. ** News Item**

MT Miniatures (Mountford Models) and CN Collectables have been in partnership for nearly three years and have now decided upon a gradual change in direction. MT Miniatures will focus on their models in 700 and 2400 scale while CN Collectables will focus on the 1250 scale, as well as their interest in Triang Minic ships. As such, the Mountford name will no longer be used for new and reissued products and the 1250 products will be labelled CNCollectables.

Decals, how to change them. November 2020,

REMOVING DECALS.

The majority of models produced for CNC are finished with decals printed on an ALPS printer. The printer ink is wax based and so can be removed from any model by carefully wiping the surface printing of the decal with a tissue moistened with white spirit. When necessary the decal can be removed whole by careful use of a sharp scalpel lifting the edge of the surface of the decal backing adhering to the model. Replacement decals should be applied in the usual way finished with ‘dulcote lacquer’ or matt varnish.

Many ships are part of large flotillas so we try and cater for this by including alternative decals for you and in some cases apply the leading ship decal with three alternatives within the box.

Eg the Holland class is pennanted as Holland but the numbers for the other three are in the box. The Bay Class has no pennant but a choice of 4 inside the box. The Arleigh Burke has some ships pennanted as USS Arleigh Burke and some with transfers included but no pennant.
