Hi and hello from CN Collectables. The 2020 version of Sir David Attenborough has docked with us. It’s good to see on the TV news the ship berthed at Holyhead for 2 months getting up to speed for the crew and in and out of the harbour. Then she goes to the Arctic Sea. Brrrrrrr.
++++Lots of recent releases in stock such as the Devonport Dockyard Basin 3 Kit, nine new aircraft, the Rivers at last and the Holland Class Frigate of the Dutch and Nato navy. We were pleased to hear that all four of the class have visited Plymouth. Also more stock of the Type 31 frigate and Mont St Michel Brittany Ferry so at the moment we have all three Brittany Ferries. The Nimrod and Awac planes are hugely impressive.
The next arrivals will be six North Western Ferries, another restock of submarines and another list of planes. We are also expecting Lewis and Clark very soon and then some HMS Hermes and the fourth Tide.
Lockdown is with us again, let’s hope it provides a breathing space for the medics, pharm and govt. .We have both bought a visor with clear glasses which makes it easier to not bump into people, lamposts and trees. Vaccine news is positive although some countries are experiencing their 3rd and 4th covid waves.
Postage prices out of the UK went up 1st September and again from the 5th October. We will just carry on and see how much change there is as we go. If this site gets it radically wrong we will refund you the over payment. We think the rates are now correct.
Kind and caring wishes to all our friends and customers around the world as the pandemic infiltrates every community in the world.
Devonport Basin 3 submarine basin is here and pre-orders are now all despatched. It is flying out, ( well at 2 kilos that is an overstatement.) It fits neatly to our kit of Basin 2 which is now down to single figures. This is so encouraging for our first dockside projects. So there will be some more next year.
As well as ships have all sorts of items here such as CDs, diecasts, books and model railways as collections are sorted and reduced. We love model buses, railways and all forms of transport.
The last general Newsletter was in middle September. Next one will be next week December. We are putting 2021 plans together too and are always pleased to hear your requests, wants and ideas.
Old and used Triang items we use three categories mint/good, playworn/reasonable and tatty for restoration ie for TLC. which is for repaint and restoration. Triang ships are amazingly tough. Oh and sometimes we can’t find an item which you have bought. This is down to being human so sorry.
CN Collectables on Ebay is now into its 20th year now and continues because it is so easy to use in almost every part of the world. We have had customers in 81 countries plus BFPO,AFPO, Britannia Naval College and several ships including the much lamented HMS Illustrious. This site is now in its fifth year. You will find that a number of items are cheaper here than on Ebay because of their high charges to sellers.
There is no news on any further Triang releases but we can confirm that Charles was alive and well and we had a long conversation in November 2017 but silence ever since. regrettably the TMS website disappeared recently. Triang stocks have reduced significantly especially type 23s.
Clive and Dave.
