Hi and welcome to CN Collectables website for Triang Minic Ships, Mountford Model Ships and other toys, books, diecasts, heritage transport magazines and paraphernalia.
I’m just back from my visit to Dunkirk and Passendale. Saw lots of Triang ships in the English Channel. So windy that tugs were assisting docking in Dover and Calais.
Just about still in stock is the new model in metal of RFA Sir Galahad. We have also have new stock of the Bay Class, the dry dock and Type 23 from Mountford. A batch of HMS Scott and both RFA Waves are made and will be delivered soon.
The current feature photo is of a Triang Ellermann Container ship with the containers glued to the deck. This came to us in a second hand lot and is just too nice to resell.
Orders are working well and usually turned around in a few days. We usually visit the Post Office at least twice a week. any queries or worries please use clyvzemail at binternet dot com for queries and follow ups and chat.
Recent sales mean that quite a lot of old ships and accessories are out of stock. We plan to have a major photo and listing exercise this week and next.
I love model buses, railways and all forms of transport so a lot of Diecast models have been recently added to the site.
We are well into our role of being sole distributors to trade and retail of 1250 scale Mountford and XAS models. A list of new Mountford models for 2019 is posted in the Library as Missive 2 and our recent Missive 3 provides an update on progress. No dates but some Spirit Class Ferries, Virginia Class submarines and Sir David Attenborough research ship are all tooled and in one stage of production or another.
Kits are discontinued and full hull submarines are unlikely to be remade unless enough of you request them. So those listed here are the only ones around. The priority for Mountford is to make new models and keep supplies of the recent releases. What we list is what we have; here and covering the other sites on which we list.
If you are very keen on a non available Mountford model please email us and we will add you to the list. The bigger the list the sooner that ship goes on the to be remade programme. We need at least 10 firm orders.
Old and used items we use three categories mint/good, playworn/reasonable and tatty for restoration ie for TLC. Trying to get more old triang harbour items listed.
You are welcome to look around and then if you want to make a purchase please register and off you go.
Triang stocks reduced significantly in 2018.
Sometimes we are able to acquire out of stock ships on the secondary market, ie from other collectors or shops. Stocks are diminishing. The Library section is where previous newsletters and articles on Triang Ships are stored. The most recent one in the library is the February 2019 newsletter.
Mountford Missives are newsletters purely devoted to the Mountford range. There is a busy programme ahead and we will try and circulate these to all who purchase a Mountford Model. These are also in the library.
We have used stock of most of the popular harbour accessories such as quay straights, breakwaters, warehouses, oil tanks, customs sheds and cranes. There are 2 categories really; used and very used. If what you want isn’t listed then please email. Time to list is always at a premium. We also have some hardly used items.
We only list an item on one of our sites and give it a unique code number. You will find many items which are only on this site. From time to time there are some special offers. There are also a good range of old ships. One of our specialities is the Tender Loving Care category which is for repaint and restoration. Triang ships are amazingly tough. Another category is the 2019 Sale which is a selection of mostly Navy ships with slight faults, usually the printing. I think that the manufacturing process prints the decal and then the bubble almost at the same time so sometimes the ink doesn’t quite dry or the print doesn’t quite take. It’s reasonable to suppose that the other sides are fine.
We also have some more heritage Transport magazines. I am a member of a variety of these and think that it is a good way to spread the word about them by recycling the magazines which they produce.
Sometimes the emails don’t seem to work, if you don’t receive a confirmatory mail of purchase or of despatch please let us know. Equally if your order doesn’t work or you don’t get an answer please email directly on firstname.lastname@example.org Large overseas orders which need a courier service need to be emailed to us directly.
CN Collectables on Ebay is now into its 19th year now and continues because it is so easy to use in almost every part of the world. We have had customers in 76 countries plus BFPO,AFPO, Britannia Naval College and several ships including the much lamented HMS Illustrious. Our Groovycart shop is still open as it shows up frequently on internet searches. This site is now in its third year.
There is no news on any further Triang releases but we can confirm that Charles is alive and well and we had a long conversation in November 2017 but silence ever since. egrettably the TMS website disappeared recently.
